The Power of the Internet

I have been having this issue of coming up with ideas for my blog lately, sort of like writers block. So instead of doing some productive with my day and pushing through this writers block, I've just sort of sat on my bed and scrolling through the internet. And then I got this idea. What if instead of using the internet as an escape, I use it for my work. To as you can probably tell from the title of this blog, today I will be talking about the internet and the ablitlies it can have.

The internet is this weird place where people have become famous and been discovered as these truly amazing and talented people, but it's also got this side where terrible things can happen. People can be cyber bullied or harassed, because the internet has this way of shielding us from seeing the immediate damage or affects we have. It's like a blind fold to the horrible things we can do to one another. The internet just holds this power and by using it we can obtain some of things power and use it in which every ways we liked.

The internet is just a crazy place to be. And the horrible things about the internet is it can become a trap and we don't even realize it. You post a photo of friends at a party and you think nothing of it. But by doing this one simple act you can ruin a friends chance into college or even their future. You may not even realize it but in the background of this photo there is a friend who is holding an alcoholic drink or smoking cigarettes. And at first this may only get them introuble with their parents, but it can snowball into something that can involve the police and get your friend into serious trouble. And biggest trap of the internet: anything posted on the internet can never be taken down. You can erase the photo from your Facebook or try to change how it appears to others. But the truth is someone can else go back and find that photo, or they can ignore the facts and what you say is true and just mini pulsate it into something else.

And the most bizarre thing about the internet is, even though it's this crazy place where these horrible things can happen. It's also an amazing place where people talents can be shown and they can find true happiness and success just by posting a video on youtube or creating artwork and posting it to Tumblr. Writers can express themselves freely on their blogs and communities can be build with the click of a button.

I don't really know where I was going with this, I just wanted everyone to be aware of how real the internet can be. It bigger than anyone could have imagined and you have to be careful with it. See you all next time.

Remember Me by Kathy J Parenteau

Now normally, as you guys know, I do "Quote of the Day" posts because I like to keep it short and easy. Sometimes if a writer writes something long and complex it can get bored or hard to focus on for the readers. But I'm going to hope you have a little faith and just bare with me, because today I'm going to give you a poem instead of a short quote.

I got the idea for this while scrolling through some blogs. I ran across a few websites that had some amazing powtry and it gave me the inspiration to find some more poetry that you guys might enjoy. So this poem isn't mine, though I might do something in the future, but I do  hope you enjoy this when you read it. Which out further ado, Remember me.

"If I were to leave this world today I'd want to be remembered it's true,
for going that extra mile just to show my love for you.
I'd want for you to be proud of me and know I always tried,
when you hurt I did too, your tears I also cried.
I'd want you to be compassionate to never turn away,
from someone who might need a hug or encouragement one day.
I'd want you to know I'm sorry if I ever caused you pain,
I hope you'd learn from my mistakes and
forgive me just the same.
There are no second chances when God
says it's time to go,
we only have today to let our feelings show.
Remember this when you say your prayers and count your blessings tonight,
and treasure every precious moment God gives you in this life."

"Personal Questions."

I got a request to do some more "personal" questions, such as relationships, sex, drugs, and alcohol. Here's several questions relating to those topics. I understand that some of these questions are very personal and do not set the best example for other people. If you feel you might be sensitive to some of these questions, please don't read on or take precaution.

1. Could you go the rest of your life without smoking another cigarette?
Yes. I have never smoked a cigarette, and never plan on doing it. I personally think it is very bad for your health. And that is not something I want to do to my body.

2. Could you go the rest of your life without drinking another sip of alcohol?
Yes. I feel like alcohol is something that is nice for people to have at parties, but when you're the right age and in small amounts.

3. Are you interested in anyone right now?
For me summer is never a good time to be interested in someone. I'm always using summer just for fun. Liking someone would just hold me down for the brief time we have before school starts.

4. Last three things you had to drink (alcoholic or not).
Lemonade, water... I can't think that far back.

5. Have you ever told anyone you love them, but not meant it.
Yes, unfortunately I have. I once had a serious relationship with a boy but towards the end I was just wasn't into it, but instead of breaking it off I just let it linger on..

6. Do you make wishes at 11:11?
I used to, but they never worked out.

7. Do you miss how things were six months ago?
I think everyone misses the way certain things were previously but I would never ask to go back. I'm here now and I can only change the way the future will be.

8. Have you ever slapped someone in the face?
Yes, once on accident. We were shooting something for a class video and I was supposed to fake slap someone but he didn't move fast enough and I actually slapped him...

11. Think of the last person who said I love you to you, do you think they meant it?
Yes, I hope so.

12. What were you doing at midnight last night?
Either walking home or in my home.

13. Have you ever regretted kissing someone?
I don't think so.

14. Were your last three kisses from the same person?
No.

15. Do you like red or white?
I don't really like wine in general.

16. Ever been introuble with the law for something?
Nope.

Hope you enjoyed this little insight to me.

Love, Sara :)

Quote of the Day: August 12

Today's quote is in memory of Robin Williams. I didn't post anything about him on any social media sites because I didn't know what to say. And a simple "RIP Robin Williams" didn't seem enough to truly capture the amazing man he was. He touched so many people, most who he never met. And that's incredible. I can only imagine relating to and touching that many people. He was an incredible human being and I sent my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

"You'll have bad times, but it'll always wake you up to the good stuff you weren't paying attention to." -Robin Williams

I'll miss you genie...

Planes, Plans, and Procrastination.

Hello! It's seems like forever since I have writing something. And I apologize for my lack of consistency with my posts. Things have just been so crazy lately. It's seems like I have spent more time in airports and planes than I have in the actual locations I have visited. As I am writing this, I am currently in the back seat of a service car driving me to the airport. I thought that traveling would make the blog more fun. I would have more stories and adventures to tell you about. But now I see how much effort traveling back to back takes.

It just takes a lot of time to write a well thought out blog. And I would never want to just write something down so you could have a new post, especially if it wasn't that good. And also will all the traveling I've just gotten tired, and I get lazy. And when I get lazy nothing happens. So due to travel and just pure procrastination, I've decided that until I can get things under control I will only be doing thee posts a week. Also I will be bringing back Question Wednesday; which I still think needs a better name. So write me some questions and maybe they'll be in a new post.

And about the Spain posts. They are coming around, they just take some time because my computer is dead and I have no idea where the charger is. So for now everything is being done on my phone, which isn't the best option... But to hold you over until my Spain and Florida trips come out, here are some photos from both trips.

^ Florida: Pool Side

^ Spain: Plane View ( I'm not sure if this is a view of US or Spain... Oops!)

^ Spain : Grapes

^ Florida : Adorbale puppy :)

^ Florida : Cuban Resturant (Can you find the man waving his hand?)

Quote of the Day: August 4

"Don't wipe your eyes, tears remind you you're alive." - Ed Sheeran

This quote is from one of Ed Sheerans latest songs off his new album. The song, "Even My Dad Does Sometimes," is a very emotional and deep song. It's touches on heavy subjects such as death, depression, life, and choosing when your life should end.

This quote especially is meaningful to me because it's a sort of reminder of the little things. When people become extremely depressed, death can seem like the best option. They forgot what it's like to live and to be alive. But sometimes all they need is a little reminder of what life is. And like this quote suggests, sometimes something as simile as a tear can remind you that you can feel and that you're alive. It's one of those little things that most people don't think about. To most of us tears are a representation of sadness or upsetting things. But it can also be happiness or relief. And even if it is sadness, that is still an emotion. And having emotions and feeling things might just get you through the next hour or even the next day.

Pushing the Limits.

One of the hardest things to know is when to stop. With certain things you never know when to stop, or where the limit is. I have recently felt like I am testing the limits and finding I've crossed the line. That, to me, has to be one of the most awkward and worst feelings to experience. You just look at the other person and you know there is nothing you can say to fix it. And there's no way to know if your crossing the line, until you've crossed it.
With some people there is no limit, they are fine with almost everything. And other people have no tolerance for anything. You are just confined to this small space.
The good thing is sometimes you can tell which people have low tolerance. They can give it away by what they wear or say. But with some people it's a gamble, and you don't always out your money in the right spot. You just have to guess and hope you're alright.
