March Favorites

March is over and it couldn't have gone any faster! It's been so much fun, I can't even explain. I figured I would do a little monthly favorites at the end of each month. I'll put my favorite clothes, make-up, events, places, music, tv shows, movies, etc. of the month. So bare with me, and lets check out what's happened this month. (Check out links to things below.)

Movies: For any YA Book readers you will know that this month a major YA Book came out in theatres just last Friday (March 21). Yeah, that's right! DIVERGENT! It was literally everything I could have ever wanted it to be! Some people said it wasn't similar to the book, but compare it to other book to movies, like the Percy Jackson movies, and it was flawless. Shailene Woodley was perfect, and I couldn't get over her. Obviously the men in this movie were gorgeous, Theo James, Ansel Elgort, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, etc. :)

Books: There wasn't any major book realizes this month, but something super exciting that happened was John Green announced that his book Paper Towns was being made into a movie! The crew from TFIOS will be the same, and Nat Wolff will be playing Quentin. :) So if you haven't read it check it out, and get ready for the movie!

Events: For me this month something that was just incredible was the Demi Lovato Neon Lights Tour. Demi is an amazing singer and performer. Fifth Harmony, Colin Keys, and Little Mix opened for her, and they were all amazing too. Also for anyone who is a youtube fan, Playlist Live in Florida was this month and though I didn't go, the daily vlogs were amazing to watch.

Clothes: I have been going crazy this month for summer clothes. I'm going to Spain this summer and it's important I have everything I could possibly need (Can you tell I stress out easily...?). So I have been glued to Forever 21, BooHoo, and Urban Outfitters looking for everything. Something I found that I think everyone would look good in is this and this. The dress is just so comfortable and affordable. It's just so practical for a spring day when it's not too hot outside. And the short are high waisted (which I love!), and they have such a cute pattern.

That's it for this month. Comment Below if there anything you loved this March!

Friendly Reminder 2.0

I know a lot of people are trying to lose weight or get more fit, and trust me I know it can be a struggle. I just want you to know that giving up is the only way you won't accomplish your goals. Keep in mind: "It takes 4 weeks for you to see change. It takes 8 weeks for friends and family, and it takes 12 weeks for the rest of the world." Keep Going!! :)

Girl Rising

This is sort of like a Sharing the Love post, but it a little different and a little more serious. Girl Rising is a movie and organization that helps girls all around the world with mainly education and independence. The movie focuses on nine main girls, and their stories of education and what they've been through in relation to their education career. The stories are shown visually, but are also narrated by people like Anne Hathaway, ChloĆ« Grace Mortez, Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep, and so many more. It is a truly inspirational story and should be more widely known. The hard truth is 1/4 girls aren't literate, and 50% of babies born from illiterate mother also turn out illiterate. People need to understand women hold the future in theirs hands just as much as mens do, and women need to remind everyone. As a women this film was very inspirational and important, and I think even men could learn from this movie. Even if you don't check out the movie, just check out the website and get informed.

Quote of the Day: March 25

"We cease loving ourselves if no one loves us." - Madame de Stael

As a teenage girl I see so much self hate, and I have even experienced it personally. But it is one of the worst things you can do. There are so many people that are willing to hate you and make fun of you, there's no reason to add more hate from yourself. Additionally as a teenage girl boys become so important to us. We don't realize there are billions of boys in the world and just because something happened with one boy doesn't mean it the end of the world, there will always be another boy. Love yourself, that's the most important thing you can do. And even if you think you're alone, you're not. I'm always here for you.

Quote of the Day: March 21

First off Happy Spring! Secondly, I found this quote on the internet the other day and I thought it was just so true and meaningful. I don't really want to say too much about it because I think when people see this they should interpret it has they want. I don't want to plant ideas in your head about this, to me its important that you can explore on your own with this. So I will leave you with this quote, and hope you find it as meaningful as I do.

Sharing the Love: Zoe Sugg

I figured I start a new thing where I let you guys know who I think is worth checking out each week (aka "Sharing the Love"). I'm not one to promote others, or even self promote, a ton, but there is one person who I think everyone should know. Her name is Zoe Sugg. She is a British Blogger and Youtuber. In my opinion she's not just a beauty guru; she's, as cheesy as this will sound, a really inspiration and encourages everyone to do there best. She is gorgeous and just a lovely person. (And has got the cutest boyfriend ever, #zalfie.) She is so famous and fabulous. Her youtube channel is Zoella, same as her blog. As a blogger, she is a true inspiration. Zoe started out as a blogger and then joined youtube, and has surpassed 4 million (!!) subscribers. (Wow.) I'm not a beauty expert, or really interested in it that much, but she has great content and is just a funny person. Check her out!

Quote of the Day - March 19

“Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” – William Shakespeare

How I see it? No matter how you get it, you are great. Go show that to the world. They can’t wait to see it. I know I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with it. And don’t be after to let people down. The only way you’ll let people down is if you never try. Own it!

Update Time.

It's been almost three weeks since I started this blog and it's been fun, but I've also realized the challenges of running a blog. I've tried to make the blogs as rich as possible content-wise, and I hope you find this to be true. I think I have a good understanding as to how I am going to do this from now on. I am 100% going to do four blogs a week, and maybe more if I can. It so far has been main topics and short stories. I am going to expand to short posts, like "Friendly Reminder." Most people say how it's so hard to keep up with writing or journals and eventually they just stop. But I think if you really want to do something like this, time management won't get in your way because your determination to do it will just overcome time issues. So with that being said, this is something I really want to do and I will. I hope you have enjoyed everything I have written so far. See you tomorrow!

Comment below if there is a specific concept or idea you want me to write about.

Storytelling: New World, New System (Part 2)

... “That’s me… And trust me the more you yell the less I want to come.” I tried to whisper that to myself, but I clearly failed because two seconds later she say, “What was that?”
I pretended like it didn’t happen and continue on to see what the reason is for calling me to begin with. “It’s an emergency,” she says like how the five year olds around here complain. “Where are you?”
“I’m coming Ms. Taylor.” Can you believe this? I actually have to call her Ms. Taylor. I obviously hate it, I mean who would like it, she the same age as me, but yet here I am. Though on the other hand I like the castle and I like living here; and if this is what it takes then I’m all for calling anyone what they want to be called.
It literally takes five seconds to walk to her side, seeing as how I was only fifteen feet away from her to begin with. Why she had to go and yell is not as clear to me as it was to her.
“What’s wrong Ms. Taylor?” As if I cared, though I try not to let emotions like these show.
“It’s not what’s wrong with me, it’s what’s wrong with Jakey!”
Jakey? Let me set the stage for you. Jacob, not “Jakey” has been engaged to Elena since he was seven and his father died. He is the current king of his country and is waiting for Elena’s father to become king of their country so he can approve for the marriage of Jacob and Elena. Jacob had moved in to the castle a few months ago when it was clear that Elena’s grandfather would bit the dust any day now. Elena knows that the arrangement is better for her country than it is for Jacob’s so she’s been trying to get close to get him so its not just the benefits that keep Jacob here, its his love for her as well. I knew she had been giving him some nicknames, but this one had to be the worst. I know Jacob, and he sure doesn’t look like a “Jakey.” He and I are good friends, against what mother calls my better judgment. My mother says it’s dangerous; we are of two different classes. ‘Imagine the scandal and rumors that would start, I can see it now ‘Peasant girl in bed with Royals.’ Then try finding a job after that,” my mother always says. It’s not like we are even that kind of friends. Yes I will admit there have been moments, he even kissed me once, but we both know the rules. And the biggest rule of all: stick to your class when it comes to relationships. Even a friendship with me would cost him his currently clean reputation, let alone a romantic one.

Addiction.

This post is more serious than others; it is meant more for educational purposes than for enjoyment.

Everyone is addicted to something; whether they want to admit it or not. Addiction can be as innocent as your favorite TV show, and can be as serious as drugs and alcohol. According to the MNT website, "People with an addiction do not have control over what they are doing, taking or using. Their addiction may reach a point at which it is harmful. Addictions do not only include physical things we consume, such as drugs or alcohol, but may include virtually anything, such abstract things as gambling to seemingly harmless products, such as chocolate - in other words, addiction may refer to a substance dependence (e.g. drug addiction) or behavioral addiction (e.g. gambling addiction)." No matter what you're addiction maybe it is important to know what it is and how it affects you. If your an alcoholic maybe it only makes you sick for the night and in the morning all you really have is a bad hangover. This obviously is a small and short-term reaction to alcohol, some reactions, especially long-term ones, can be far worse and detrimental to your life. What is also important to know is whether you have a habit or an addiction. Habits are something that you willingly do and you have control over; addictions have control over you. Be aware what your addictions are and what your habits are. Make sure you know what the affects of what you are doing have on you. And if you need help, get it. Don't wait because you think you are doing okay. If you ever think you might need help, you should react right then. People, professionally or not, are here for you whether or not you know it. I am also here for anyone. So please don't hold off, getting help is a major step, and may seem like the scariest first step ever, but it is an important one to take.

Storytelling: New World, New System. (Part 1)

There no real introduction at the beginning, so what I'll say is, it is supposed to represent a different version of modern day society. There is more explanation as you go along.

“Lizzy!” Her annoying voice ran down the halls until it found my ears. My mother always taught me to be appreciative for our life, and that there are worst things in life then serving others.
Be appreciative of this? Of the crap I have to deal with on a daily basis? Sure we live in the castle, but its not like we live on a floor that has heating and more than one blanket per bed. Its not like we live with the royals and their family on the upper floors… It’s not like we matter to anyone but ourselves, or like we would be missed if we left.
“Elizabeth! Do you hear me? I need you, like now!” I hadn’t heard anyone call me by my full name is forever; even to the royals I was Lizzy.
Before I continue, welcome to high school. High school as you knew it has changed. We are no longer children in uniforms and backpacks. We’ve been transformed into royalty. We carry crowns on our heads that we’ve been taught to hold high; at least for those who are fortunate enough to become royals. As for the rest of us, the unlucky ones, we’ve been transformed to peasants and commoners. The royalties, as I refer to them as, are beautiful people. The girls have long flowing hair with extravagant dresses that go down to floor. As for the boys, they are the most handsome men, with wonderfully perfect skin and effortlessly beautiful hair. They’re literal gods on Earth. As for us, known to you as “the un-populars,” we wear rags. We are nobody, only here for the goal of pleasing royals. I personally serve Elena Taylor. Her mother is wife to the future king. Elena is considered the most beautiful girl, with golden hair running almost to her hips, and shimmering grey eyes. Beautiful people like her never have to think twice about what they do. They do what they want and any consequences fall back on people like me, peasants. At all times Elena has her two best friends, Zoe and Naomi, or her boyfriend, Jacob Thomas. The only thing I ever have with me is my rag to clean messes. Besides I’m too busy serving Elena to have a social life. I have one friend, Emily Green. Her mother and mine have been friends forever.
“Elizabeth Bell!” There goes her voice again....

Friends/Boyfriends/Girlfriends/Anyone.

We all have them. Whether they're really here for you or not, that is the question. They can call you pretty or walk with you to class, but will they stick with you through the hard stuff? How do you know they're here to stay? There isn't a contract you sign or a oath you take. No real obligation they have to you. So what do you do to make sure they're real friends. I don't know the answer. I mean,  does anyone know the answer? Just like love, friendship is a game of chance. You have to have a little faith in people to know the answer for sure. And trust me, if ever someone wasn't a true friend when you thought they'd be, don't sweat it. Anyone who breaks your heart doesn't have the right to take up the time and energy of your mind and emotions. Don't mop around after someone breaks your heart; and certainly don't blame yourself. The worst thing you could do is self-blame. Some people just don't want to stay around, they never have and never will. This is NOT your fault. You are a strong, independent, amazing person; and whether you're a boy or girl you have the ability to rule the world; you can accomplish anything. And don't let anything or anyone stop you. I know this sort of went of topic, but the point is friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, anyone really, is not guaranteed to be there for you forever. They might leave you. And if they do you'll be okay. Trust their decision and trust yourself; that's the best thing you can do.

Identity.

I've only been doing this blog for a few days and I realized I haven't really introduced myself. Something that is important to me is people owning up to who you are. I hate it when people aren't themselves because they think being someone else is better. As a human you have many things you can choose to identify with. You can chose to identify as the general choice, human, or you can get more detailed. You can identify as boy or girl, student or teacher. You can even go as far as to identify not by obvious physical choices, but by feelings or emotions, i.e. gay, bisexual, lesbian, transgender. I personally identify not by emotions or in general term, but as myself, Sara Kay Stewart. In my opinion every person is a unique individual and they deserve to be seen as that. I believe in being you because everyone else is taken. To me being myself is being the best person I can be. And I know this probably sounds clique but its true, I wouldn’t ever want to be anyone else. To me being yourself is being true and honest and faithful to yourself, to your true self. So many people see a pretty face on the TV and think, “wow, I want nothing more to be them.” In reality the person they dream about being probably (a) isn’t being their true self or (b) they aren’t happy with themselves. Maybe being someone else is fun or entertaining, and maybe for one day it would be heaven on earth, but when it really comes down to it being you, the true you is the great thing in the world. You are the greatest gift you have to offer to the world. Like Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." On a more personally note, to me, being Sara Stewart is a blessing, but like everyone else who doubts themselves, it can also be a sures. I am proud of me, and what I have accomplished in my live. I have done this some people haven't dreamed about. I have climbed mountains, both emotional and physical. I have been in life and death situations, and I have put everything on the line for something that probably wasn't worth it, but I believed strongly enough in it and in me. But I am not only Sara Stewart, I am human, and I am flawed. I have sinned and I have doubted myself. But that's what being me is, and I wouldn't change anything for that. I wouldn't wish to be anyone but me.
