It's a special day...

Inverted Ponytail

The final of my three basic hair styles is the inverted ponytail. I think this is the easiest of the three hairstyles; it has just two basics steps.

Step 1: Put your hair in a low ponytail, around where your hair line ends at the back of your neck. Don't make it too tight. The tighter it is the harder it will be later on.

Step 2: Find the center of your ponytail before where the band is (between the hair band and your head). Make an opening at the center and push your hair and hair band into the opening you made.

**FYI: If you want it to look more twisted you can repeat step 2 multiply times.

Babies, Babies, and More Babies...

Today I think I'm going to try something new. Normal I stick to my Quote of the Day, Sharing the love, etc. But today I going to do more of a "Day in the Life" sort of thing. This past weekend I spent with a lot of my family. I went to my cousins house to see her and her four kids, and I went to see my sister and her newborn baby; hence the title of this post.

First I'll start off with my cousins house. My cousin Jenn has four kids, two boys and two girls, and the two who I spend time with the most is Maggie and Katie, the two girls. Like any four year old girl they love disney. And anyone who has been not living under a rock for the best few months knows the major disney movie that came out a while ago, Frozen. And like any awesome person we blasted Frozen music for the better part of three hours. They were adorable and they even re enacted the beginning few minutes of Frozen, when Anna and Elsa are young kids. They also experimented with my phone and found there is a camera on the front of the phone. I now have twenty selfie of them similar to this:

I don't know what it is about kids but they are just the cutest! And it was good I had the next two days to spend with my sister and her one month old because my baby limit was no where near past. I was ready to meet my niece for the first time and I was ready for the cutest. There was a long ferry ride between me and my sister but I just stayed in the car like the lazy teenager I am, while my mom, who hates boats and water, hyperventilated on deck.

Anyway, back to my niece Catelyn. She is just the cutest thing! And she has got to be the luckiest girl in the world, since my sister is white and her husband is black she has the color that just looks like she's constantly tan, soooo jealous. Also, babies are the cutest when they yawn. Their little faces get all scrunched up and they just look so cute. Their only down fault is the crying. Literally I go to hold her and she cries the loudest I have ever heard a baby cry.... Just my luck! And that's always my fear with babies. I just imagine the baby being totally fine in the moms' hands and then she passes the baby to me and the babies cries, and then the mom looks at me like I'm a killer. The anxiety.... :/ But in all seriousness, isn't she the cutest. :)

Sharing the Love: Marcus Bulter

What's on my iPhone.

I recently saw one of Alfie Deyes' videos and he did one where he explained his top 10 apps on his iPhone, check it out here. I figured I'd do something similar but just my top 5 apps. So I'll say what they are, explain them, and then link them (if possible). Okay, here we go!

Number 1. The Hunt
   I dont know if you guys have heard about this app, but I literally can't stop using it. Basically, you take a photo of something you really like, it can be clothing or maybe a quote and you want to know what movie its from, and you share it on the app and the community helps you figure out where you can find it. I have been loving it and I found so many movies I want to watch, and clothes I am going to buy. It is such a life saver. You can find out more about it here.

Number 2. Instagram
   I am sure most of you have heard about instagram, but I am addicted to it! I unlock my phone and go start to it. (My instagram is here, go follow me!) I just love the idea of instagram. Basically for anyone who doesn't know what it is, it's an app where you can post pictures of yourself or of anything really, and share them with who's ever following you, and they can like it. You can follow all your friends, favorite stores, and even celebrities use it. It's the greatest. The app link is here.

Number 3. Minion Rush
   As much as I love my social media, I also love love love (!!) games, one in particular: Minion Rush. It is so fun. It's based off the amazing movies Despicable me and Despicable me 2. The game as little challenges for you to do and you can connect to facebook to compete with your friends. It's basically the best. Link for it is here.

Number 4. iTube
   So I don't know about you guys but I hate paying for music. I normally just go onto Youtube, but when you do that on your phone it can be annoying to wait for it to load, and it wastes cellular data. So what iTube does it once you listen to a song it saves it on the app so next time you want to listen to that song its already downloaded on your phone and ready for you to listen to. It doesn't cost any money and it uses Youtube so anything you find on Youtube you can just as easily find it on iTube. It is a true life saver and has probably saved me forty dollars so far just from not buy all the songs. (Couldn't get the link, :( sorry.)

Number 5. Tumblr
   I love Tumblr. I think it is a fantastic site and the photos are amazing, the fandoms are just... they get my feels. (Check out my tumblr here.) If I had to choose I'd only have a tumblr and not any other social media. Tumblr is just fantastic and the fact that there's a tumblr app just makes me that much happier. If any of you have tried to tumblr or shop on a mobile browser then you'll understand the frustration you get and you'll understand the joy you experience when that company makes a much easier to function app. Link for it is here.

Messy Bun.

I dont know about you guys but whenever I have no idea what to do with my hair I simply throw it up in a bun. I love buns for two reasons. (1) They have got to be the easiest thing EVER, and (2) if I do them right the leave my hair with little waves when I take it out. The messy bun I always do has four simple steps.
1. Take your hair and hold it straight above your head. (If you were to look at it from the side, it'd look like a tall triangle or christmas tree,)

2. Twist the hair while it's still above your head. Remember before how I said there would be waves when you took it out? Well this is the part that determines how those waves look. It you twist tightly you will get more defined waves, but if you twist it loosely the waves probably won't show too much.

3. Now take your twisted hair and wrap it around itself at the base of your twisted your hair (aka where your twisted hair meets your head.) Don't forget where ever your twist is is where the bun's center will be, so make sure that's not too high or too low.

4. Now that you've twisted your hair into a bun/knot, grab a hair tie and keep that sucker in place.

5 Year Journal (One Line a Day).

I don't know if you guys have heard about this, but I found mine in Urban Outfitters (link), and it's a five year journal.

Basically you write one line a day, everyday, for five years. I've been loving it and it's gotten me writing everyday, which can be hard sometimes, but with this it's so simple you just write one line. That's not so hard, especially for lazy people like me who don't know or don't feel like writing you can write something as simple as what you did that day. For me, I'm always concerned my friends or roommate will see what I wrote, so I write vague things that only I could figure out what they meant (I get really paranoid) or I just write my favorite quote or lyrics of the day in it. Braid Crown

I was going to do three styles all at once, but it would have been the biggest post ever so I'm going to break it down into a three part series.

This first one has got to be my favorite hairstyle to do. I'm literally wearing it now. It's not as hard as you may think. All you have to do is make two side braids on both sides of your head. Before you continue make sure you have bobby pins or twist pins. Also, FYI clear small hair bands are always better for these things then full size hair ties. Anyway, after you have your two side braids, take one of them and wrap them around to the front of your hair. If you have long hair you can go behind the back of the head first, but for people whose hair can't do that you can just go the short way around. Once you decide which way your hair goes you can pin it down. Do this to the other side, and ta-da!, you're done. I'll leave some info if I described it badly. Hope you've enjoyed!

Sharing the Love: Tyler Oakley

This weeks Sharing the Love is about Tyler Oakley. He, like most of my sharing the love posts, is from Youtube. He mainly works with others from youtube and the Trevor Project, an organization that supports the LGBT community. Seeing as how he is gay, he works hard to fight for gays and their rights. Today's quote I actually go straight out of Demi Lovato's latest book, Staying Strong: 365 days a year. It's a wonderfully book, if you haven't check it out yet, you can check it out here. This quote particularly I think is amazing. You can interpret it how ever you'd like, but I think it just means that so often and so quickly we look at someone and automatically judge them, and we shouldn't. There is so much more to a person than what they look like; take the time to find out what people are like. And as Demi so nicely said it, "Real beauty comes from kindness, virtue, and compassion. Seeing that kind of beauty requires more than just a casual glance."
